Amara runs CMI's customs department — every import entry, every export entry, every CDS submission, every NCTS movement. She joined in 2014 and became Head of Customs in 2019, just in time to lead the team through Brexit.

Pottery studio
Amara took up pottery in lockdown and now runs a small ceramics studio in Saltaire on weekends. She finds throwing clay at a wheel is the only thing that switches her customs brain off.
